Seraikella Chhau
Chhau, is a semi classical Indian dance with martial, tribal and folk origins being a syncretic dance form that emerged from a fusion of classical Hindu dances and the traditions of ancient regional tribes. The dance ranges from celebrating martial arts, acrobatics and athletics performed in festive themes of a folk dance, to a structured dance with religious themes found in Shaivism, Shaktism and Vaishnavism. The costumes of the dance are with using masks to identify the character which are basically performed by males, which is regionally celebrated particularly during spring every year.
Rath Yatra
The Jagannath Ratha Yatra (cart festival of Lord Jagannath) is a centuries-old festival which takes place in Jagannath Puri, India and the rath is taken forward from Seraikella as well. Thousands of devotes e come together for the purpose of remembering God in means of the Lord of the universe, the father, the mother of all living beings.
Durga Puja
The Durga Puja is the grandest festival and the greatest event in the religious life of the Hindus living in Jharkhand and Seraikella-kharsawan. People worship the Goddess Durga with great pomp and devotion every year.
